A video sells what a photo can't show: how the fabric moves, how much fits in the backpack, how the product is actually used. With the new Video with text widget, you place a video — uploaded by you or from YouTube — next to a formatted text block, anywhere in your store.
Upload your video or bring it from YouTube
There are two ways to add it:
Upload your video: MP4, MOV or WebM up to 200 MB. We automatically convert it so it loads fast on any phone and host it on our CDN, with an auto-generated thumbnail. Nothing else needed.
YouTube link: paste the link and you're done. Any format works: watch, youtu.be, Shorts or embed.
Landscape, vertical or square
The widget automatically detects Shorts and shows them in vertical format, with no black bars. And if your video is vertical but the link doesn't say so (a regular watch?v=), you pick it manually: Automatic, Landscape (16:9), Vertical (9:16) or Square (1:1).
You control the playback
Autoplay: starts on its own, muted (browser rule).
Loop: starts over when it ends.
Muted and controls (playback bar, pause, volume): turn them on or off.
Rounded video corners, your call.
Write the text with formatting
It's the same editor as the FAQ and Text block widgets: H1, H2 and H3 headings, bold, italic, underline, lists, alignment and images. And if you know HTML, the </> button lets you paste it directly.
Arrange it your way
The video can sit to the left, right, above or below the text.
You choose the video width with a slider: beside the text, or centered and smaller.
On phones, the video and text stack automatically so everything stays readable.
You pick the colors
Background (or transparent to use your store's), a framed border, sizes and colors for headings and text, and the block's max width. All from the Design tab, with a real-time preview.
Where it shows
You choose the position: on the product page (above or below the title, before or after the description, below the product container), on the home page (next to banners, featured or new products) or on product listings. And the scope: your whole store, specific products or categories, with the option to exclude products.
