What is the purpose of connecting your number?
By connecting your WhatsApp number to Nuby, all modules that communicate via WhatsApp will use your store's number. This includes:
Reviews — post-purchase review requests
Stock Notifications — automatic alerts when a product is back in stock
WhatsApp Automations — automatic messages at the key moments of a purchase: abandoned cart, pending payment, purchase confirmation, order shipped (with tracking), order canceled and ready for pickup
WhatsApp Campaigns — bulk messages to your customers, optionally with a unique discount coupon for each recipient
Important: without a connected number, the only thing that works over WhatsApp is review requests, which are sent from a shared Nuby number with a limit of 40 messages in total (so you can try the tool). Stock notifications, automations and campaigns require your own connected number.
What type of number can I connect?
There are two possible cases:
Option A — Number already used in the WhatsApp Business app (Coexistence)
If you already have an active number in the WhatsApp Business app (the one on your phone) and you want Nuby to use that same number, Meta allows both to coexist without interruptions. This is called Coexistence.
What does this mean?
You continue answering messages from your phone as usual
Nuby sends its automated messages from that same number
Customers see your real number in all messages
Customer replies arrive in your app as always
Option B — New or exclusive cloud-based number
If you want to use a number that is not connected to the WhatsApp Business app (for example, a new number dedicated to your store), the process is similar, but Meta will ask you for two extra things:
Verify the number with a PIN sent by SMS or phone call
Choose a display name: the name your customers will see in messages. Meta reviews it and approves (or rejects) it. For it to be approved, the name must match your business name and appear in your store. With Coexistence this step does not exist: the profile you already have in your app is used.
Prerequisites
Have a Meta Business Manager account (business.facebook.com)
Admin access to that account
A card to link as a payment method in Meta (Meta charges per conversation; see step 7)
(Option A only) The number must already be active in the WhatsApp Business app
Step-by-Step
1. Go to Settings in Nuby
In the Nuby dashboard → any tool that uses WhatsApp (WhatsApp, Reviews or Stock Notifications) → Settings → WhatsApp section.
2. Click "Connect WhatsApp"
The Meta popup will open (Facebook Login / Embedded Signup).
3. In the Meta popup — choose your number type
If it's Coexistence (Option A): you will see an option that says something like "Connect existing WhatsApp Business App number". Choose that one.
If it's a new number (Option B): follow the standard number creation/linking flow.
⚠️ If you don't see the Coexistence option, make sure the number is already registered in the WhatsApp Business app before continuing.
4. Select your Meta Business account and your number
Choose your Meta Business Manager account
Select the WhatsApp Business Account (WABA)
Choose the phone number
5. (Option B only) Verify the number and choose the display name
Meta will ask you to enter a PIN sent by SMS or phone call, and to choose your business display name. For Option A (Coexistence) this step does not exist: the number is already verified from the app.
6. Confirm permissions
Meta will ask you to grant Nuby permission to send messages. Accept all of them.
7. Set up the payment method in Meta For automatic messages to be sent correctly, Meta requires you to link a card to your WhatsApp Business account.
Official guide: How to add a payment method in Meta
Meta costs: Please note that Meta charges per conversation initiated. You can check the official rates here: WhatsApp Business Platform Pricing
8. Done!
Nuby is now connected, and from this point on, all modules using WhatsApp will send from your number.
Meta's sending limit
Meta sets a limit on how many conversations each number can start per day. A newly connected number starts with a limit of 250 conversations per day (it may take a couple of hours to activate after connecting).
That limit goes up in two ways:
Verifying your business in Meta Business Manager. When it makes sense for you to do it, Nuby shows a notice in the dashboard with the guide.
With a good sending history: Meta raises it on its own when you send quality messages consistently.
For most stores, 250 conversations per day is more than enough to get started.
What changes after connecting?
Not connected | Option A (Coexistence) | Option B (Cloud number) | |
Messages sent from your number | ❌ Generic Nuby number | ✅ | ✅ |
Keep using the WhatsApp Business app | — | ✅ | ❌ |
Reviews via WhatsApp | ✅ (limit of 40 messages in total) | ✅ | ✅ |
Stock notifications via WhatsApp | ❌ | ✅ | ✅ |
Automations (abandoned cart, payments, shipping) | ❌ | ✅ | ✅ |
WhatsApp Campaigns | ❌ | ✅ | ✅ |
What will NOT appear if you use Coexistence?
If your number is Coexistent, you will not see the "Redirection Number" section in the settings. This is normal — that option exists to redirect customers to another of your numbers, but if the connected number is already your store's number, redirection is unnecessary.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I disconnect the number at any time?
Yes. From the same settings screen. Your WhatsApp Business app will continue to function normally.
Will Nuby automatically reply to my customers' messages?
No. Nuby only sends the automated messages you set up (reviews, stock, automations, campaigns). You handle your customers' replies from your app as always.
Can I connect the same number to multiple Nuby tools?
Yes. You connect once and that number is automatically used by all tools.
Could my number stop working in the app? (Coexistence)
No. Coexistence is designed by Meta specifically for this: both connections live together without interruptions.
Is there a limit on how many messages I can send?
Yes, it is set by Meta: a new number can start up to 250 conversations per day, and the limit goes up by verifying your business or with a good sending history (see "Meta's sending limit" above).
